The nose is an important sensory organ, which can also be very sensual. Unfortunately its shape or size is not always what we wish for. But the nose should never be viewed in isolation but always in the context of the entire face.
A beautiful nose fits in harmonically. If the nose is conspicuous or out of proportion, it will disturb the harmony of the entire face. The shape of the nose determines not only how we look, but also how we feel about ourselves. Therefore another important aspect is the improvement of the nasal respiration, which is one of my specialties.
Therefore I do not work on the improvement of the shape alone, but also of the nasal function. I want you to breathe well after rhinoplasty, no matter if it was medically necessary or plastic-aesthetic.
In short: You should only trust a surgeon, who treats the nose in its entireness, namely aesthetically and functionally. The perfect accord is the accord of form and function – so that you can breathe easily.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty – a highly demanding surgery
Rhinoplasty / nasal correction is one of the most common aesthetic surgeries. It can give the face perfect harmony, but it makes extremely high demands on the surgeon.
The results of nasal corrections are frequently unsatisfying and often require follow-up surgery. This is mainly due to the fact that nasal corrections are technically among the most complex surgical procedures.
Apart from the aesthetic aspects, the functional requirements have to be observed in rhinoplasty. A nasal surgeon needs to understand not only the anatomy of the nose but also of the entire face.
Therefore the surgical technique is difficult to learn and not all surgeons in this field have the required training and experience. They often follow a standard procedure. This is a comparably simple and time-saving method, but often does not bring the desired results.
For a correction of the nose it is not enough to take of a hump or remove cartilage from the tip of the nose. Instead it is necessary to make use of subtle techniques to rebuild the tissue of the nose purposefully and individually. Much more effort is required for this, but the advantages are obvious. The important supporting structure of the nose is hereby maintained and can even be reinforced if required. This is a prerequisite for the stability of the nose.
Many people have deviations of the inner nose, like e.g. an oblique nasal septum. In such cases not only the outside of the nose must be corrected, but the inside as well. This is especially important when the breathing function shall be improved.
The same is true for many “merely” aesthetic nasal corrections, if the function of the nose is to be maintained. Often the internal nose has to be corrected before the desired external shape can be formed. In many cases, this aspect is not sufficiently taken into account by patients and surgeons as well.
Technique
Differentiated rhinoplasty is something else
This you will find out already in the first consultation. What is important for a nose and thus is important for you can not be discussed in a brief conversation.
A surgeon who takes a differentiated look at a nose and thus takes a differentiated look at you:
- has to listen at first, listen to what you want, what your wishes and your fears are
- has to take a very close look, examine and analyze, from the inside and the outside
- has to evaluate and select the methods suitable for your nose and thus for you
- has to explain what is feasible and what ist not, especially the limits are important, because not everything can be done.
- and finally he has to explain to you where the difficulties and the risk lie
You need to have all these facts in order to make the right decision.
A meticulous surgeon needs all these facts as well, so that he can plan a suitable treatment for you.

I will take time for you, because a detailed discussion is needed to achieve what is most important before any treatment – a consensus between physician and patient.
